Lesley Carole Weisman

April 26th, 1947 - December 11, 2024

Several weeks ago our sister Lesley Weisman entered in the presence of God, and even now, is beholding the face of Jesus. As the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:8, "Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord." Like so many of you, I am thankful for the saving grace and saving faith evident in Lesley's life. For those who knew her, her sweet disposition, sincere gratitude, and love for God's word was always on display. I was thankful that in 2023 and 2024, I had the privilege of studying God's word with her on Wednesday mornings. She was always a gracious host, and always eager to learn more about her Savior. I look forward to seeing her again someday.

If you knew Lesley, would you please take a moment to leave a comment below with a remembrance? It might be an encouraging reflection or a funny memory or a Scripture that comes to mind. I know whatever you contribute, it will be a blessing to all who read it. Thank you!

Grateful with you for this dear sister and the eternal life she continues to enjoy,

Pastor Bryce

We also have fond memories of Lesley. Her very kind, gentle and humble way we will always carry with us. Sidney especially enjoyed visiting her at her home as well as the short trips for medical appointments. Serving Lesley was so very easy because she was always so very thoughtful. And she frequently said so! We were blessed to have known her and have her fellowship in our faith family.
I'm grateful to have known Lesley. She was a sweet blessing in my life. We would talk regularly after church and her kind words would always be an encouragement to me. She loved looking at my art and I loved sharing it with her. I'm grateful for the kindness support she had shown me.
When I first came to Way of Grace Church, Lesley and friends, Miriam and Margy, were the 1st faces I saw. They sat on a bench in the Sundance Elementary entry way, and were so heartwarming and cute with their greetings to me - and all who entered. I loved it! Lesley (being a "fashionista" frequently complimented my outfit, shoes, or whatever. But my sweetest recollections are the many thoughtful and loving greeting cards she sent me. They always made me smile and feel the love! I've missed her in her later years and regret I didn't send her the cards I felt the Lord laying on my heart to send - a sobering reminder that we can't guarantee a loved one will always be around. So I hope to do better in reaching out to loved ones who might need a word of encouragement. God help me!
How I praise God for Lesley's valiant efforts of love in spite of her hands crippled with arthritis! What a sweet example she was! And NOW....
I rejoice just thinking of her freedom from an ailing body and her incredible JOY in seeing her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - FACE-TO-FACE! I look forward to joining her one glorious day when I see Jesus, and we can worship Him together - joyously grateful for His sacrificial love for us that brings us to our final Home in Heaven - with HIM!
Thank you, Lord, for sending Lesley into my life!
Lesley was a lovely, gentle, yet determined child of God. We say determined because she never let this world get her down. May more of us imitate her sweet spirit. God bless all who mourn her passing; but it is only temporary for her brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you, Jesus!
Lesley loved to go out to eat. Her favorite restaurant was Olive Garden. I believe that was because that was where she and her husband ate all the time. We always ate out once a month alternating who would get to choose what restaurant. She loved dessert, but always ordered it to go. Her favorite at Olive Garden was the strawberry shortcake. It will always be a favorite memory of our times together!
When I first met Lesley, she was being pursued by a group of women from a cult, who apparently felt she was an easy mark. I don't remember how she came to Way of Grace, but together with the help of several Way of Grace sisters she was able, through the study of God's word, to sort out truth from error. Her newfound faith grew and her joy in what the Lord had done for her was evident and contagious. One of the biggest blessings she was to me and many others was in her custom of writing encouraging and love filled notes. Sometimes it was in response to a current need, but sometimes just because she wanted to share her love! She will be very much missed, but I know she is rejoicing in her Lord's presence and also thankful for being rid of her failing body!
