Our Purpose

One of the most ancient names given to followers of Jesus Christ was “the way” (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:22). Not only did this name describe Jesus’ call for redirection, but it also pointed back to what Jesus had said about himself in John 14:6.

As Way of Grace Church, it is our desire to walk according to the new way made possible by Jesus and by the grace of God.

Our purpose as a church is the same purpose Jesus had: to call followers. You see, all of us are followers. The question is, “Who are we following?” Jesus came to take us in the right direction: God’s direction. So we express our purpose and personal commitment to Jesus’ leadership this way: we’re about calling followers and following His call. Or to put it another way, it's about making disciples and being disciples of Jesus.

We believe our purpose includes four essentials:

We invite to One Lord, Jesus Christ, who has made a way of grace through his offering of love on the cross.

We intregate followers into One Body, the church, that community of followers who reveal God’s way of grace through the love of Jesus Christ.

We instruct according to One Truth, faithfully preserved in the Old and New Testaments, and authoritative in describing this way of grace through Jesus Christ.

We involve followers in One Mission, to declare and demonstrate the loving reign of Jesus Christ in order to invite others to this way of grace.

As a church plant of Camelback Bible Church (Paradise Valley, Arizona), our desire is to bless the burgeoning community of Buckeye and the Southwest Valley by walking in and calling others to God’s way of grace.
